About the 6 ton webbing sling (brown, 150 mm)
The 6 ton brown sling is 150 mm wide. Riggers use it for heavy fabrication, large pumps, press parts and plant equipment, and as a step up from the 5 ton red when the load or the hitch needs more margin.

The 6 ton rating applies to a straight vertical lift. A choke hitch reduces the capacity, and with two legs the capacity depends on the angle between them. How to choose
- Measure around or under the load and up to the hook, and choose a length long enough that the sling legs do not spread out flat.
- A choke hitch carries less than the 6 ton straight-lift rating, so allow for the hitch you will use.
- Never tie a knot in the sling to shorten it; buy the right length instead.
- At this width, check that the sling sits flat in the hook and is not bunched to one side.
