Lifting Equipment for Manufacturing Plants

On a production line the same lift happens hundreds of times a shift, so small savings in effort add up. Spring balancers hold nutrunners, screwdrivers and welding guns at working height so operators are not carrying the tool's weight all day. Electric chain hoists on beam trolleys load machines and move sub-assemblies between stations.

Manufacturing

Machine shops and smaller plants often need manual gear: a chain pulley block on a geared trolley for die and mould changes, or a magnetic lifter for steel blanks. In stores and dispatch, hand pallet trucks and stackers move material on and off the line. HMS supplies plants across South India and Goa from our store on NR Road, Bengaluru, and we can help you choose capacities and lift heights before you order.

Common jobs and the right equipment

Supporting tools at the station

A spring balancer holds the tool at hand height and pulls it back out of the way when released.

Loading machines and fixtures

An electric chain hoist on an electric or push-pull trolley lifts parts onto machines and fixtures quickly and repeatedly.

Changing dies and moulds

A chain pulley block on a geared trolley gives fine control when lowering a die or mould into a press.

Handling steel blanks and plate

A permanent magnetic lifter picks flat steel without slings and needs no power to hold.

Moving material in stores and dispatch

Hand pallet trucks move pallets across the floor and manual stackers load them onto racks.

Safety on the job

  • Match the electric hoist to how often it lifts, not just to the load. A small hoist run continuously on a busy line will overheat.
  • Test the pendant buttons, emergency stop and limit switches at the start of every shift.
  • Fit the safety chain or wire on every spring balancer so the tool cannot fall if the balancer fails.
  • Never lift more than the rated capacity marked on the hoist, trolley or lifter.

Questions people ask

How do I choose the right spring balancer?

Weigh the tool together with any hose or cable hanging from it, then pick a balancer whose rated range covers that weight. Tell us the tool and we can help you choose.

Manual or electric hoist for my line?

For a few lifts a shift, a manual chain pulley block is enough. If the same lift happens many times an hour, an electric chain hoist saves time and reduces operator fatigue.

Will your trolley fit my existing beam?

Our geared trolleys adjust to flange widths of 75 to 125 mm (1 and 3 ton) or 75 to 150 mm (2 ton), and each electric trolley is matched to a set I-beam size. Send us the beam size or flange width and we will confirm which trolley fits.
